ENDICOTT, N.Y.—“The Book of James by Men Named James” was the theme of the Winter Conference of the Empire State Fellowship. Seven pastors named James preached from the book of James: James Moore, James Read, James Murphy, James Butler, James Balson Jr., James Saunders, and James Fraser. The seven men stressed practical Christian living and admonished attendees to match their beliefs with actions.
In addition to hearing insightful messages from James, the 250 attendees (from 72 churches) had ample opportunities for interaction and fellowship, as the host church, West Windsor Baptist, served two delicious meals and a refreshment time in its large gymnasium.
As the two-day conference concluded, James, the brother of Jesus, reminded each person not to forget what he has heard, but to do it, resulting in being blessed in what he does (James 1:25). The guests listened and learned from James and committed themselves anew to live as he proclaimed.
