DES MOINES, Iowa—Over 300 guys attended the annual Men’s Steak and Corn Feed at Saylorville Church. The church schedules this annual event in order to provide a fun opportunity for men to invite their unsaved friends to church.
At the end of the meal, volunteers hand out door prizes and throw out ice cream sandwiches. Then a praise band leads in a simple song or two; a recent convert to Christ shares his testimony; and a speaker preaches a short, powerful gospel message.
This year Jaysson Gurwell had the honor of preaching. Saylorville commissioned him on June 8 as a church planter. He is the fourth member Saylorville has commissioned to fulfill its goal of planting churches out of its own church.
