HAZLETON, Pa.—This past weekend Grace Baptist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary, a marvelous time of rejoicing in God’s great faithfulness and in the continuing power of His Word in the community. The church has been a part of the GARBC family since 1962. In addition to receiving a commendation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, the church was featured in a front-page feature story in The Standard Speaker newspaper.
Honored during the service were deacons and former deacons, as well as charter member Joan Hill. And the congregation enjoyed a video called “Through the Years,” which presented a photographic history of the church. Pastor Ryan L. Day (pictured), a 1998 graduate of Baptist Bible College of Clarks Summit, Pa., has served Grace Baptist since 1999—first as associate pastor, then as interim pastor, and now as senior pastor.
