Faith Baptist Church of Mason City, Iowa, held its fifteenth Patriotic Program on Armed Services Day. This program has morphed over the years from a kids’ program to a community outreach involving all ages. This year’s program featured a parade down the church’s aisles by the Mason City Fire Department Color Guard, the “Brass Blast” ensemble, and Uncle Sam. The program focused on rejoicing in the freedom we have as Americans and the spiritual freedom that is available through Jesus Christ. Col. John Murdoch, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy Ministries, was the featured soloist at this year’s program. He also delivered a clear gospel presentation. Chaplain Murdoch sang “God Bless the USA” for the program finale, which culminated with an explosion of confetti fireworks.
