Dennis Rost retired from Calvary Baptist Church, Byesville, Ohio, where he served since 1994. He was initially associate pastor before the church called him as pastor in 1998.
The church has called Ryan Bump as pastor (in photo above with his wife, Julie, and their children). He was previously pastor of student ministries at Berean Baptist Church, Portage, Michigan.
Dennis’s last Sunday service at the church was August 3, and Ryan began as pastor August 10.
“We’re so excited for what’s next but also simultaneously celebrating and grieving our amazing Pastor Dennis and his wife, Jan, for 30-plus years of service to us,” the church says.
“We cannot thank him enough for his years of love, care, commitment to our flock, and to preach God’s Word accurately, faithfully, and consistently. . . .
“We are forever grateful for what they’ve done for us and what the Lord has done through them. God has been so faithful and will continue to be in our new season.”
