At New Story Church, Kansas City, Kansas, an ice cream sundae Sunday encouraged and honored teachers and students heading back to school.
The church hosted the event after the worship service July 30. The entire congregation was invited to enjoy ice cream with students and teachers.
Ice Cream Sundae Sunday is an annual back-to-school event for New Story Church.
In Fort Myers, Florida, Daniels Road Baptist Church honored students and teachers as well. Before the worship service August 6, members of the church signed up to adopt a teacher for the school year. Those members will each pray for a teacher daily.
During the worship service, Pastor Mike Banks invited Aaron Snyder, pastor of student ministries, to pray for the students gathered at the front of the worship center. Mike then invited Jeff Snyder, pastor of adult ministries, to pray for the teachers. After the service, the church family joined the teachers and students for lunch and gave the teachers school supplies.
