At Grace Baptist Church, Troy, Ohio, the youth group invited the church’s seniors to join them for one of the youth group’s Sunday night gatherings.
Although the two groups have gotten together for events in the past, this particular event—called Generations Youth Group—was a first for the church. “It won’t be our last!” says Chuck Pausley II, associate pastor.
The two groups (Fusion Student Ministries, for sixth through twelfth grades, and Legacy, for ages 60 and older) enjoyed “amazing food, side-splitting games, great worship, and a convicting message,” the church says.
“One of our goals at Grace is to connect the generations,” Chuck says. “Our Generations Youth Group event is one of the ways we try to accomplish this.”
The two groups “had an awesome time together,” the church says. “It is great to bring the generations together!”
