Philippine Relief Effort by GARBC International Ministries
BogoCebu_thumbOur hearts are heavy as we think of the losses in the Philippines that occurred from Typhoon Haiyan. Many organizations are launching relief efforts to provide immediate humanitarian assistance. Our GARBC International family is feeling the impact of the devastation in a very real and personal way. Churches, schools, and parsonages of those in the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries have been damaged, and in some cases completely destroyed.

GARBC International Ministries maintains an emergency relief fund that is used when disasters impact our IPFBM partners. We can help churches by providing relief assistance for destroyed or damaged buildings and resources, helping them rebuild these vibrant and essential ministries. We can also impact the Philippines on a spiritual level by providing evangelistic literature, written in the context of this specific tragedy, that will reach people with the gospel.

Money donated to the emergency relief fund will assist those in the Philippines region. When those needs are met, we will use the fund to assist other ministry partners who face similar needs due to natural disasters.

Would you as a family or a church consider contributing to the International Emergency Relief Fund? You can give online (select “Int’l Emergency Relief”) or send a check by mail (GARBC International Ministries, Emergency Relief Fund, 1300 N. Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173). The needs are great!

When a tornado, hurricane, earthquake, or other natural disaster hits, the Baptist Builders Club staff begins inquiring of the welfare of pastors and churches. During a recent sweep of tornadoes in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, several communities were deeply affected. Our prayers are with families who have lost their homes and church families and business people who have lost their buildings. We are thankful to the Lord that the facilities of GARBC churches seem to be intact, though full reports are yet to come. Several church members have lost their homes.

Churches indicate that their communities have needs. These churches are working to assist those in need and to share the gospel with them. Baptist Builders Club can help churches with their efforts in their communities.

You can help too! Here are three ways:

  1. Pray for these churches and communities.
  2. Give by donating online or by calling 888-588-1600, ext. 803.
  3. Go. Sign up to help a local church minister to its community once it has a plan in place.
