On May 17 the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches sponsored a Shop Talk on the theme, “Biblical Funerals in a Cultural of Death.” Dr. Don Shirk, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, New York, presented a view against cremation. Attorney Stewart McDivitt, a member of Glen Baptist Church in Watkins Glen, New York, discussed several legal matters. Jim Lynn of Erie, Pennsylvania, shared helpful aspects of a funeral from the perspective of a licensed funeral director. Sixty-eight people—mostly pastors—attended. The Shop Talk was hosted by First Baptist Church in Belmont, New York.
