Disciples Make Disciples

Crossroads Fellowship welcomed pastors and ministry leaders from nearly 100 fellowshipping churches to its annual conference October 27–29. The theme “Disciples Make Disciples” (2 Timothy 2:2) emphasized the call to intentional disciple making and leadership multiplication.

Keynote speakers Sandy Mason, director of regional representatives for The Bonhoeffer Project (in the photo above), and Thad Bergmeier, executive director of EveryEthnē, challenged pastors to evaluate their ministry patterns, strengthen mission clarity, and equip believers for everyday disciple making. Participants also engaged in interactive cohort sessions tailored by ministry role, church size, and region of the state.

An annual meeting highlighted progress on the state association’s initiative to “Saturate Indiana with the Gospel,” including leadership development, revitalization support, and collaborative church-planting efforts.

Jon Beight, executive director of Crossroads Fellowship, reminded attendees, “When the people of God align with the mission of God, the Spirit of God multiplies the work of God.” He added, “Healthy pastors leading healthy churches will impact every county in Indiana.”

The conference also included the presentation of the fellowship’s Timothy Training Award. Receiving this year’s award were Ron and Donna McDugle, recognizing their longtime investment in training young men for pastoral ministry and leadership.

“You become what you celebrate, and as a fellowship, we want to celebrate those who have trained men and women for ministry over their lifetime,” Jon Beight told the attendees.

Ron was a pastor from 1968 to 2009 and now serves as an interim pastor.

“Ron and Donna’s ministry has shaped multiple generations of pastors, missionaries, church planters, and ministry leaders,” Jon noted. “Through discipleship, mentoring, and faithful example, they have equipped young men to serve Christ with conviction, character, and Biblical clarity. Many of their trainees now serve in pulpits and ministry roles across the Midwest and beyond.”

“The McDugles’ legacy,” Jon added, “reflects the heart of 2 Timothy 2:2 and strengthens churches throughout the state.”
