New Harmony Baptist Church, Caldwell, Ohio, celebrated its 200th anniversary August 10.
A quartet “added some wonderful southern gospel music to the celebration in the service and also a mini concert after the meal,” says Chuck Pausley, state representative for the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches, who attended the service.
Lead singer Jerry Waldrop previously served with Pastor Rob Seymour as an associate pastor at New Life Baptist Church, Akron, Ohio.
Rob retired from the pastorate of New Life Baptist Church in 2020 after ministering there since 1982. He soon began serving as interim pastor of New Harmony Baptist Church and then came out of retirement to serve as the church’s pastor.
“What a weekend!” says New Harmony Baptist Church. “The entire weekend was full of friends, fellowship, the gospel, and of course lots of good food!
“Lots of things have changed in the last two centuries, but one thing that remains consistent is God’s goodness and faithfulness to save.”
