First Baptist Church, Monroe, Iowa, called Jeremy Ward as pastor.
He was previously assistant pastor of Westwood Baptist Church, West Des Moines, Iowa, and a small-business owner. Jeremy says he’s “simply a servant who loves Christ and serving others.”
“I’m looking forward to what God is going to do here at First Baptist Church,” the interim pastor told the congregation on his last Sunday at the church. “One of the goals of an interim pastor is to work yourself out of a job.”
He urged the congregation, “Take care of your pastor; listen to your pastor; love one another.” In those ways, they will be “the servants that God wants [them] to be.”
