Bethany Baptist Church, Salem, Oregon, honored Tim Baker for serving as its pastor for 30 years.
Clare Jewell, GARBC national representative and member of Bethany Baptist, spoke during a Sunday service dedicated to rejoicing in God’s faithfulness through Tim and his wife, Marcy.
Also speaking that morning was Jarren Baker, Tim and Marcy’s son and associate pastor of Whitney Bible Church, Boise, Idaho. He spoke on the benefit of longevity in pastoral ministry for the pastor’s family.
Donn Mogford, an elder of Bethany, emceed the service. Donn was the lead pastor whom Tim served with for five years (beginning in 1989) in his first ministry role, as a youth pastor in Nampa, Idaho.
After the service, a reception gave current and former church members the opportunity to express their thanks to Tim and Marcy. Bethany Baptist looks forward to ways God will continue to use the Bakers in the church.
