Men Challenged to “Rise Up” for the Lord

Central Baptist Church, Binghamton, New York, hosted a Men’s Adventure. This annual event of the Northeast Fellowship encourages and equips men in their roles for the Lord.

Over two days, main sessions and workshops on the theme “Rise Up,” from the book of Nehemiah, encouraged the men to rise up for the Lord. Local pastors taught the workshops, some specifically for teens and young adults (answering the question “Who am I supposed to be when I grow up?”) and seniors (encouraging them to mentor, counsel, instruct, and set a godly example for younger men).

Additional workshops addressed topics including sharing life with other Christian men, finding one’s place in ministry, and considering the call to the pastorate.

For Brian King, executive director of the Northeast Fellowship, highlights were hearing the men from more than 50 churches praise God in singing, fellowshipping with these men, and hearing of many men’s commitments to step up in their faith.

He says the event set a Biblical foundation for the men and served as a springboard to help them move forward in their walk with Christ.
