Throughout the year, Calvary Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan, “has been diligently handwriting the entire New Testament as a gift to our senior pastor, Jeff Halsted, in recognition of his 20 years of ministry at Calvary.”
Last month, the congregation gave him that unique gift: a “handwritten New Testament, adorned with beautiful artwork contributed by various members of our congregation,” the church says.
The church thanks Crossway for granting permission to copy Scripture in this way and thanks “everyone who contributed their efforts to make this cherished gift a reality.”
One member says participating in the endeavor “was such a blessing.” Another says, “In addition to the physical book, there’s the gift of the congregation placing priority on the Word and hiding it in their hearts as they wrote! What a treasure!”
