David E. Strope, interim national representative of Regular Baptist Ministries, enjoyed two consecutive weeks of ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, Grinnell, Iowa. On September 3 and 10 he preached and shared an update on the ministries of RBM, particularly ministries that help churches seeking pastors.
Pastor Craig Johnson retired from Calvary Baptist Church this summer. The church is now preparing for its pastoral search.
David next preached and presented RBM at Calvary Baptist Church, Forest City, Iowa, September 17 and Berea (Ohio) Baptist Church September 24. The pastors of both of these church “are in the process of setting endurance records of continuous service,” David says.
Pastor Doug Farrell has served at Calvary Baptist for 32 years, and Pastor Ken Spink has served at Berea Baptist for 39 years. “And I thought I was doing well to have served 22 years at Ankeny Baptist Church in Iowa!” David says.
October will bring an even fuller schedule of ministry visits for David, as he will be speaking at four churches, two conferences, and a university.
