Faith Church, Lafayette, Indiana, will be rebuilding its skate park at the church’s East campus community center, with help from community input. Construction is in the initial planning stages.
“The next generation skate park,” the church says, replaces the original 7,500-square-foot skate park the church built in 2007.
“On Monday night, September 25, more than 50 boarders, bikers, and skaters” met at the East campus’s community center to share their dreams and desires for the new park.
Three representatives from Hunger Skate Parks in Indianapolis attended as well. They talked about “specific features, transitions, and design options for the planned park,” the church says. “Each park they design is intended to be unique based on the feedback from the skating community. It was a night of ideas and sharing toward an exciting new skate park.”
The church’s original skate park is “a long-desired community need, and hundreds of area youth have already benefitted from the facility,” the church says.
