Meridian Baptist Church, Newton, Kansas, honored Scott Kliewer for 15 years as pastor. Before becoming pastor of the church, he was its minister of youth and music since 1983.
Scott has served in church ministry since high school. As a student at a Baptist high school in Denver, Colorado, he was active in various aspects of the church that oversaw the school. Those ministries included serving in a church bus route that reached inner-city children and preaching to other teens in the youth department.
In his senior year of high school, he felt called to vocational ministry.
While studying at Bob Jones University, he met his future wife, Pam. “She had completed her degree in piano performance and was working on staff at the university,” Meridian Baptist says. “After completing his undergraduate degree in May 1979, he and Pam traveled as husband and wife leading a ministry team from BJU for two consecutive summers.”
Meridian Baptist says Scott and Pam are “a blessing” and “a great example of faithfulness.”
