Mount Tahoma Baptist Church, Lakewood, Washington, ordained is youth pastor, Alvin Malave.
Speaking in the ordination service March 26 were Dave Lunsford, executive director of the Baptist Network Northwest, and Mark Wagner, pastor of Mount Tahoma Baptist.
Mark challenged Alvin to make the Lord the focus of his heart. People whom pastors minister to need the Lord. But those pastors need the Lord as well. Providing an example, Mark says, “It is a danger to study my message for Sunday that I’m going to give to people and to miss me.”
“‘Above all else, guard your heart,’” Mark says, quoting Proverbs 4:23. “Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
