West Bridge Church, Danville, Indiana, celebrated its 60th anniversary January 11.
“From day one,” Pastor Jon McDugle told the congregation, West Bridge Church has focused on reaching people with the gospel.
He encouraged the congregation to continue reaching others, connecting, growing, and serving: to share the gospel with the people around them, to connect with other believers, to grow in Christlikeness by being nourished from God’s Word, and to be “an unstoppable force for good in our hurting world as we serve with the humility of Christ—to be His hands and feet.”
Jon has been pastor of the church since 2008.
The week after the anniversary, on a Wednesday evening, the church gathered for its Vision Night, an opportunity for the congregation to hear updates about the church’s future and to share their input.
A job of the church’s leaders, Jon said, is to continually seek God’s guidance for the church’s future. After the leadership completed feasibility studies, Vision Night explored “barriers that could keep us from our mission but also opportunities that could help us accelerate into where God is leading us.”
