R. Paul Mayo, a pastor, died September 5. He was 91.
Paul, a 1955 graduate of Practical Bible Training School in New York, devoted over 50 years to ministry. He started a church in Berlin Heights, Ohio, and pastored churches in Kewanna and Delphi, Indiana; and Sunbury, Lorain, and LaGrange, Ohio.
Mentoring and encouraging others to be faithful in ministry gave him special joy.
He also served six years as supervisor of adoptions for Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries with great compassion for the fatherless.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Mayo.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Lou (Boise) Mayo, whom he married June 19, 1954; four children, Linda (Del) Mohler, Rachel (Jim) Chambers, Rebecca (Larry) Starett, and Tim Mayo; 17 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
