“Manhattan Declaration” as a Learning Exercise

By December 28, 2009July 24th, 2014No Comments

The Manhattan Declaration drafted recently by “Orthodox, Catholics,  and Evangelical Christians” and signed by many has attracted considerable attention. Many notable leaders have weighed in with their opinion on this document. Personally, I would not sign the Declaration, but I do think it can serve as learning exercise to help your people develop theological discernment. I formatted the document with the text of the Declaration on the left and my comments, questions, and instructional ideas on the right. Click here to see text and comments. I used this learning exercise in an online pastoral mentoring group with whom I meet. If you use this approach, please email me and let me know how it worked for you.
