GARBC 403(b)(9) Retirement Plan

The General Association of Regular Baptist Churches is committed to empowering those who serve by providing retirement benefit services that honor the mission and values of GARBC.

A brief history of the GARBC (General Association of Regular Baptist Churches) and Servant Solutions

In 2018, a partnership was formed between the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC) and Servant Solutions to provide a Retirement Plan for pastors and church workers working in GARBC churches and organizations.

The GARBC Retirement Plan, administered by Servant Solutions, is a 403(b)(9) church retirement plan. Because it is a church retirement plan, retired pastors can claim housing allowance on distributions made during retirement (an excellent tax-saving tool).

The GARBC Retirement Plan provides 30 investment options to employees, twelve of which are diversified asset allocation strategies that automatically adjust as an employee advances through his/her ministry career. These strategies, called LifeFunds, become gradually more conservative the closer the employee gets to his/her retirement age. The other 18 investment options are mutual funds that allow employees to craft their own investment strategy if they so desire.

Opportunities to enroll in the GARBC Retirement Plan and receive retirement education are made available at GARBC events and gatherings.

Servant Solutions also provides free financial planning and resources to participating employees.

Servant Solutions is a non-profit organization that was established in 1949, and it carries out its mission to “improve financial security for servants of the Church.”
