Great New Song

This new song from Sovereign Grace Ministries combines rich theology with congregational singability.  The song, “All I Have Is Christ,” was written by Jordan Kauflin, who is the son of Bob Kauflin. Bob is a well-known name in the music world, and it looks as if his son will carry on his father’s tradition. We used this song last week at a family camp at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp, and it was an immediate favorite.

Take a look at these words:

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You

  • I listened to the clip. Excellent song. It was easy to get into and the words were incredibly deep. It seemed to end very abruptly though (perhaps this was just the clip, at least I hope so).

  • John Greening says:

Sobering and stirring song! It reminds us of our pre-salvation condition apart from Christ and then rises in its simple melodic line and profound lyrics to an expression of praise to God for His marvelous grace. I am humbled by the text and rejoicing In My Savior. We all need to be gripped anew by these truths.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the lyrics and message!

  • Sarah Blocher says:

Our church debuted the song back in September and it has really been a blessing. We, too, have been impressed with and drawn to Sovereign Grace Ministry songs b/c of the theology in the lyrics. Our desire is to use songs that glorify God, protray His truth and center our focus on Him!

Thank you for highlighting Sovereign Grace.
