Prayer Requests: Events of National Interest

By July 20, 2012No Comments

Three current news stories of national interest have points of intersection with churches in the GARBC. These churches and communities are in need of our prayer.

  • The tragic shooting in Aurora, Colo., occurred in the community where Airport Community Baptist Church is located. Doug Wise is the pastor. At the writing of this post, Doug says that he has not received reports of any of his people being directly affected. Please pray for the church family as they have opportunities to reach out during this time of grief and sorrow.
  • Over the last week we have watched the story of two missing children in Iowa. The grandmother and great-grandmother of one of the missing girls are members of Hagerman Baptist Church in Waterloo, Iowa.
  • Throughout much of the country, drought is impacting the land. The Midwest and West are especially hard hit. People in our churches whose vocations are dependent on rain are impacted. The ripple effect touches our national economy and more personally touches our churches.

Please take a moment as a church to pray for these requests that are touching our friends and partners in ministry.
