RomeoFest1ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—Bible Baptist Church took advantage of Romeoville’s RomeoFest, using the festival as an opportunity to share the gospel. About 200 people from the church and village gathered for a community worship service at an outdoor amphitheater and pavilion—in addition to many vendors who were setting up and heard the entire service whether they wanted to or not.

RomeoFest2Church members began by sharing “cardboard testimonies,” displaying in just a few words who they used to be, and who they are now in Christ. The children in attendance heard a story from The Jesus Storybook Bible, then everyone sang about the grace of God through songs like “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)” and “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone).” The praise team and teenagers sang “How Great Is Our God” in English, Spanish, and Polish, which represents some of the native languages at Bible Baptist Church.

Finally, Pastor Jason Stover took 25 minutes to speak about the Lordship of Jesus. “I presented the community with [C. S.] Lewis’s trilemma and asked them to decide whether Jesus is a lunatic, liar, or Lord,” he says. “We are praising God for the wonderful opportunity to share Jesus with the village of Romeoville in a unique way.”
