DALTON, Pa.—Robert E. Allen, former interim president of Clarks Summit University, died Jan. 27.

In addition to his interim presidency, he served at Clarks Summit University as a voluntary special assistant to the president, served on the board of trustees, and was chairman of the board.

“Bob was the quintessential board member for the school, sacrificially sharing his energy and resources on behalf of CSU,” says John Greening, national representative of Regular Baptist Churches. “His handwritten personal notes of appreciation after a challenging meeting were treasured. His smile always lifted spirits. I benefited from observing his business insights, not to mention his sartorial taste. I thank the Lord for this gentleman.”

Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloy; a daughter, Lisa Konzelman; a son, Robb; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

John and his wife, Daria, call Bob and Gloy one of the “finest, godly, sweet-natured, happy, wise, and encouraging couples we have ever met. It is impossible to talk of the one without the other. In our estimation they were the perfect combination of what makes a Christlike marriage team.”
