Jack Nichols, Church Planter

LUTHER, Mich.—Jack Carlyle Nichols, a church planter, died Dec. 29. He was 85.

After serving his country as a radarman third class in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1949, Jack met and married Judy (Marilyn) McConnell on June 5, 1954. In the early 1960s, Jack heard Romans 10:17 and accepted Christ as his Savior.

Dedicating his life to the Word of God, he attended Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and became an ordained minister and church planter for Galilean Baptist Mission and Baptist Church Planters. He was involved in planting Chippewa Hills Baptist Church, Remus, Mich.; Calvary Baptist Church, Ludington, Mich.; and Sunnyside Baptist Church, Luther, Mich., where he was serving as pastor.

Jack is survived by his wife, Judy; their daughters, Penny, Kimberly Harris, and Janice Simmons; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
