Irene Pike, Pastor’s Wife

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Irene Pike, a pastor’s wife, died Nov. 14. She was 83.

Irene served in Christian ministry from 1960 to 2013. She served alongside her husband, Karl, as he was pastor of seven churches in Michigan, the last church being Good News Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. In her role as a pastor’s wife, Irene led 335 mother-daughter banquets, retreats, and Christmas programs. She also worked at Bibles International for nine years.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Karl; their children, Kamilla Boerema, Kimberly Cederquist, Kevin, Kelly Grifhorst, Kraig, and Katrina DeMan; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2:00–4:00 and 6:00–8:00 p.m., at Bliss-Witters and Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, Michigan. The funeral will take place Monday, Nov. 18, 11:00 a.m., at Good News Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
