Ida Marion Wells, Pastor’s Wife

FINDLAY, Ohio—Ida Marion Wells, a pastor’s wife, died March 8. She was 90.

Ida and her husband, Carl “Les” Wells, were church-planting missionaries with Baptist Church Planters. They established and helped nine churches in their nearly 63 years of ministry. For the past 65 years, her passion was teaching children. As a member of First Baptist Church, Findlay, Ohio, she was actively involved in teaching kids’ club and junior church, working in the nursery, and cleaning the church.

Baptist Church Planters says, “She was such an inspiration to all of us, showering us with memory verses, love, and biblical advice in her life and letters. She will be missed here on this earth.”

Les preceded Ida in death on June 26, 2015.

She is survived by her four children, Dave, Edie Maskell (whose husband, Mike, is pastor of First Baptist Church, Findlay, Ohio), Tim (associate pastor of Columbia Heights Baptist Church, Boise, Idaho), and Tom; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
