COVINGTON, La.—Glenn Clark Stewart Jr., who had 42 years of experience leading churches, planting churches, and developing leaders, died Jan. 12. He was 65.

Glenn’s passion was to see lives changed through the transforming work of the gospel. He served as Christian education director at First Baptist Church, Willingboro, New Jersey; pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Zephyrhills, Florida; pastor of Riverdale Baptist Church, Flint, Michigan; pastor of Grandview Park Baptist Church, Des Moines, Iowa; and founding pastor and senior pastor of Faith Community Church, DeBary, Florida.

Holding degrees in Bible and theology and a master’s degree in organizational leadership, Glenn was also an adjunct professor of theology and leadership at the Orlando campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University, chairman of the board of Baptist Bible College, and a member of the GARBC Council of Eighteen. In addition, he founded LifeEquip, a ministry that coaches and encourages pastors primarily in small- and medium-size churches and consults with the leadership of Christian schools and organizations. “His vision and love touched the lives of so many,” says LifeEquip.

Palm Beach Atlantic University says that “Glenn’s legacy of service and leadership will live on in those that he equipped and inspired through his message of serving Christ and serving others. His legacy certainly lives on in the students he taught while at PBA.”

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly; his children, Renee Blanchard, Brenda, and Scott; and nine grandchildren.
