Donald L. Rettger (1926–2011)

LAPEER, Mich.—Donald L. Rettger, 84, died Sept. 21, 2011. Donald was the founder of the Committee on Missionary Evangelism.

A 1954 graduate of Cedarville College, Cedarville, Ohio, and a Navy veteran of World War II, he was a pastor in Ohio at New Richland Baptist Church, Belle Center (1983–2006), and Wildwood Chapel, Upper Sandusky (2002–2009). He retired from maintenance at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Following his retirement, he served as interim pastor of First Baptist Church, Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Kenton, Ohio, which he founded in 1971.

Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte; two daughters, Donna Rezutko and Anne Vince; two sons, John and Tim; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
