Dolores West, Pastor’s Wife

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Dolores Jean (Stalker) West, a pastor’s wife and missionary, died Sept. 8. She was 90.

Dolores graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1947, where she met her husband, Robert. They married on Dec. 17, 1949. She and Robert ministered in several Baptist churches throughout their marriage, including planting Faith Baptist Church in Morris, Illinois. They were also missionaries in Munich and Bad Heilbrunn, Germany, with Baptist Mid-Missions in the early 1950s.

Dolores was a member of Rustic Hills Baptist Church in Colorado Springs and enjoyed volunteering at Focus on the Family for several years. Before moving to Colorado, she was the church secretary at Faith Baptist Church, Brainerd, Minnesota.

Robert preceded Dolores in death on Sept. 26, 2003, after 53 years of marriage.

She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Littlejohn, Philip, and Lydia Luedeke; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
