COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio—Amy Wilmeth, a missionary and pastor’s wife, died Jan. 7 after battling breast cancer since March 2011. She was 37.

Amy earned a BS in computer engineering from Iowa State University. She married her husband, Eric, on Aug. 15, 1998. They served with Baptist Church Planters since 2004 and planted Bennington (Nebraska) Baptist Church.

Eric says that Amy “passed peacefully with me and her parents by her side. She is having the wonderful glory of God revealed to her right now and we rejoice for her. We weep for the loss of a wonderful woman, daughter, mother, wife, friend, child of God. But we do not grieve as those with no hope because God’s Word declares that even as Jesus had victory over death He gives that victory and life to all who believe.

“We know with full certainty that this is not a forever goodbye but rather a see you soon. We are resting in the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.”

Amy is survived by Eric and their four children, Faith, Adam, Ethan, and Asher.

Services will take place at Ankeny (Iowa) Baptist Church, with visitation on Friday, Jan. 13, 6:00–7:30 p.m., and a celebration of life service Saturday, Jan. 14, 11:00 a.m.
