Winter Retreat in Prescott Valley

Prescott Valley, Ariz.—Teenagers representing five churches gathered on Jan. 9 and 10 at Open Door Baptist Church in Prescott Valley for the Annual Youth Retreat of the Arizona Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Indoor activities on Friday night included a chili dinner; Foosball, Ping Pong, pool, and other games; and a late night treat of brownies and ice cream.  Participants reported that the best part of the night (and the weekend) was simply having fun and renewing friendships with one another.

As breakfast was being cooked, the fire alarm went off (a false alarm) and woke the last of the sleeping boys. After eggs, bacon, breakfast burritos, and homemade cinnamon rolls, the teens loaded into church vans and other vehicles for the two-hour trip to Flagstaff. The group spent several hours at the Arizona Snowbowl ski resort, playing in the snow and enjoying lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the San Francisco Peaks.

Throughout the weekend, teens heard challenging messages from Evangelist Monte Leavell, who invited the lost to faith in Christ and encouraged believers to worship and obey God.

In addition to the winter retreat, the AARBC Youth Committee plans three other annual events: a volleyball-a-thon in the fall, a spring youth rally (including Talents For Christ competition and Bible Quizzing), and Camp Tishomingo in the summer.
