McGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE— Jason and Sharon Nightingale of Wordsower International were in Haiti when the earthquake hit, ministering with Pastor Prédestin Hérard, president of the Association des Énglises Evangeliques Baptistes d΄ Haiti.

“Words cannot describe what people are going through,” says Jason. “We are exhausted, dirty, lost most of our luggage and stressed. But feel very blessed. We are planning to go back as soon as we can to help . . . also there are many, many newly orphaned children.”

The Nightingales were evacuated on a U.S. Air Force flight to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, where he was interviewed by the Baptist Bulletin.

“The gospel is winning in Haiti,” says Jason, as he describes the heroic efforts of Haitian churches and the need for more gospel-based assistance from U.S. churches.
