Tent Revival Brings Many to the Lord

TentRevival_INDOVER, Del.—Maranatha Baptist Church held an event reminiscent of revivals from the past. It erected a tent on the church grounds for an Old-Fashioned Tent Revival Oct. 12 and 13.

Evangelist Scott Eadie of Ridgely, S.C., preached. His messages “stirred everyone’s hearts,” says Pastor Lance Wager. “Eadie not only shared the gospel, leading several to make eternal decisions for salvation in Christ, but he also stirred the hearts of our faith family, and many recommitted their spiritual walk with the Lord.”

Maranatha makes “no apology for strong preaching, sound doctrine, and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word,” Pastor Wager says.

Worship leader and recording artist Dave Aubrey led in worship on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Dave, a worship and youth pastor at a church in Dover, says he is “passionate about leading people into the very presence of God.”

Two weeks before the event, Pastor Wager preached a message on prayer. Quoting Greg Laurie, a pastor in California, he began, “Prayer is as essential to knowing God and growing spiritually as breathing is to living and staying healthy.” He encouraged those in the congregation to begin praying for the revival to come. In the days leading up the tent revival, members went a step further by hosting prayer meetings in their homes.

“The Lord was at work and continues to work in Maranatha up to this revival and through this great weekend!” Pastor Wager says.
