Sunshine Baptist Fellowship Holds Fall Conference

THE VILLAGES, Fla.—The Sunshine Baptist Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches gathered for its annual meeting and Fall Conference Oct. 26 and 27. The theme of the conference was “Developing a Christian Mindset in a Secular Community” with Dr. Charles Petitt, president of Piedmont Baptist College and Graduate School, Winston-Salem, N.C. Dr. Petitt, the featured speaker to the 120 guests, challenged the preachers and teachers to preach the Word, connect with their audience, and to seek a personal response to every message.

Dr. Jim Vogel, associate national representative of the GARBC, led two practical workshops addressing the personal side of ministry and marriage and shared a report of GARBC priorities and ministries. Juanita Purcell, wife of Tri County Baptist Pastor J. O. Purcell, taught a ladies’ workshop.

The fellowship introduced its new web presence at www.SunshineBaptist.net and also elected six new members to its Council of Ten. Nathan Osborne III, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Winter Haven, Fla., turned over leadership of the fellowship’s council to the new president, Charles Pausley, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Avon Park, Fla.

Tri County Baptist Church hosted the Fall Conference in its new facility just outside The Villages, Fla. Tri County Baptist, led by Pastor J. O. Purcell and Administrative Pastor Steve Poludniak, will celebrate its seventh anniversary in December. The conference concluded with the finest of Baptist traditions, prayer and feasting, as Tri County Baptist Church provided a complete roast beef dinner for all the conference guests.
