Springlike Weather Doesn’t Hamper Winter Retreat

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz.—Springlike weather put an unexpected twist on the Arizona Association of Regular Baptist Churches’ Winter Youth Retreat at Open Door Baptist Church. Rain throughout the weekend caused leaders to move activities from the nearby mountains and park to inside the walls of the church’s Cooley Hall. Volleyball, softball, kickball, and board games were among the games the teens enjoyed playing, organized by Pastor Terry Green of Victory Baptist Church, Casa Grande, Ariz.

The main purpose of the retreat, though, was not hampered by the weather, says Pastor Tom Petro of the host church. Patrick Neff, church ministries director with the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, Inc., challenged and encouraged the teens and adult sponsors from the Word of God. Speaking three times on “Prophecy and Today’s Teens,” he reminded the approximately 50 people in attendance of their responsibility to share the gospel with the unsaved (including unbelieving Jews) and to live godly lives in the light of the Lord’s soon return.

Several young people made personal commitments to the Lord concerning their walk with Jesus Christ.
