CARROLL, Iowa—Faith Baptist Church hosted a statewide singles outing on Oct. 8. Singles age 22 and older met at the acreage of Dean and Nancy Rogers, members of Faith Baptist, to mingle, play outdoor games, and fellowship over a barbeque supper. Attendees enjoyed shooting clay pigeons, fishing in the pond, paddle boating, and volleyball. Experienced female shooters were even on hand to assist ladies who were newcomers to trapshooting. Some attendees just enjoyed walking around the beautiful property and sitting on the dock visiting. Men from Faith Baptist grilled bratwurst, and side dishes and desserts were provided by the church family.
After supper, Pastor Tim Capon led a devotional in a tree house from Ephesians 4, speaking of serving in the church. He challenged everyone to be active workers, not merely spectators in their churches. Following the devotional, several people stayed to enjoy a bonfire and s’mores. Many have begun making plans to host a similar event in their area of the state, and others have decided to return to the Rogers’ property for another event next fall.
