ANKENY, Iowa—On Monday, February 11, U.S. Senator Charles Grassley (R.) spoke in the chapel service of Faith Baptist Bible College. Senator Grassley shared his testimony of faith in Christ and related how his Christian faith has influenced his nearly fifty years of involvement in public service. After his opening remarks, he entertained questions ranging from tax reform to education standards. Following the chapel service, invited guests joined students and faculty for a reception in honor of Senator Grassley.

Special guests for the day included Ankeny Mayor Steve Van Oort, State Senator Larry Noble, and State Representative Carmine Boal, as well as area pastors and friends. Several students from the Government class of Ankeny Christian Academy met Senator Grassley and had a group photo taken with him.

Dr. James Maxwell III, president of FBBC&TS, has set a goal of extending Faith’s influence into the civic arena. Senator Grassley’s visit is the first among several steps planned to expand the ministry and influence of Faith.
