NoChurch2EDEN, N.Y.—The Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches wants to help its churches be as effective as they can. So to achieve that goal, it offered a Revitalization Workshop Feb. 1 as part of its “No Church Left Behind” initiative.

Nine pastors and their deacons—25 people in all—attended at First Baptist Church. Jim Vogel, state representative of the ESF, led them in discussing revitalization strategies for their churches.

The Revitalization Workshop is the first of three training events for pastors and deacons who want to move their churches forward in strategic and “paced” change. Part two, a Strategic Planning Workshop, explains a basic five-step template for helping churches plan for the development of their ministries. Part three, an Outreach Action Plan Workshop, provides a framework for the development of eight areas of outreach strategy that any church can implement.

The ESF says that although the content of the second and third workshops depends somewhat on the previous workshops, they can be taken in any order or individually.

The next workshop will take place in May in the Binghamton area.
