Empire State Fellowship Spring Conference

ROME, N.Y.—The Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches met for its Spring Conference at Skyline Baptist Church. Two hundred attendees (from 58 churches) heard excellent preaching from the book of Romans. Dr. David Doran preached from Romans 14 concerning “Doubtful Things.” Doran pastors Inter-City Baptist Church, Allen Park, Mich. (a suburb of Detroit), where he was saved as a child. Craig Golden, state representative for the ESF, says Doran’s four messages “were extremely beneficial, helping believers who differ on certain issues to accept and respect each other.”

Two of the fellowship’s younger pastors, Ron Miller (Dryden Baptist, Dryden, N.Y.) and Elijah Beltz (host pastor), preached on “These Ten Things Are NOT Doubtful.” One pastor testified, “The preaching at this conference was the best I have ever heard at any ESF conference.”

Although preaching highlighted the two-day conference in Rome, attendees enjoyed feasting and fellowshipping. Whether sitting for lunch or standing with a coffee and donut in hand, “the messengers talked, gabbed, and chatted,” says Craig Golden. He says the fellowship was so sweet and intense at times that it seemed as if attendees traveled all the way to Rome just to enjoy each other’s company. He praises the Lord for “another good (some think ‘great’; others said ‘super’) conference of the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches.”
