TAYLOR, Mich.—Evangel Baptist Church celebrated a special weekend January 18–20, with John Greening, GARBC national representative, speaking at the Deacons and Wives Banquet Friday evening, and he and his wife, Daria, participating in a Deacons and Wives Training Seminar on Saturday.

Sunday activities reflected upon the importance of church leadership. Ken Floyd, Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches representative, spoke in a combined Adult Bible Fellowship session, and John Greening spoke in the morning worship service. Pastor Ken Pierpont was installed during the evening service, with its theme “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness.” Guest speakers included Ron Graef, former Evangel pastor, and Ken Floyd. A reception for the Pierponts followed the service.

Special guests of the Pierpont family included Ken’s parents, Ken and Jane Pierpont; as well as Nathan and Kevin Pierpont, Ken’s brothers. Pastor Pierpont’s father is a pastor in Portersville, Ohio. His brother Nathan is the worship pastor at Northeastern Baptist Church, Kalamazoo, Michigan. And his brother Kevin is a pastor in Higgins Lake, Mich. Pastor Pierpont is a third-generation pastor, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Ken’s oldest sons, Kyle and Chuck, are youth pastors. Ken and his wife, Lois, have six additional children—Holly, Heidi, Hannah, Daniel, Wesley, and Hope.

Pastor Pierpont states, “My goal in life is to communicate truth about Jesus Christ and to nudge everyone I meet a little closer to Him every day by living out that faith in my life and family.”
