Kester-INTUCSON, Ariz.—Sahuaro Baptist Church installed James P. Kester as pastor in a service on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22. For more than two years the church had diligently searched and faithfully prayed for God’s provision.

Pastor Thomas Bauder, chairman of the Arizona Association of Regular Baptist Churches Council of Five, addressed Pastor Kester and the Sahuaro Baptist Church family from Joshua 1. The deacons and neighboring pastors then prayerfully dedicated Pastor Kester to his new task. The service also included a musical number, “A Passion for Thee,” sung by Pastor Kester’s wife, Lisa, and their daughter Brooke.

Many pastors of AARBC churches and other nearby Baptist churches were present to affirm their support for Sahuaro Baptist Church and the Kesters. Terry Hurford, chairman of the deacons, honored their previous pastor and his wife, Jim and Fay Smith, with sincere words of gratitude and appreciation for their 25 years of serving at Sahuaro.
