Impacting Future Generations

VFY1_INOREGON, OhioYouth workers learned how to impact future generations for Christ at the National Youth Ministries Conference held at Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center near Toledo Jan. 13–15.

The annual conference is sponsored by Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, Pa., and Vision for Youth, whose cofounder and president is Mel Walker, a Regular Baptist Press author.

Ten speakers led general sessions and workshops designed to give attendees practical training in student ministry. Among the speakers were Jeff Beckley, associate, youth, and family pastor at Memorial Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio; Jon Beight, executive director of Twin Lakes Camp, Hillsboro, Ind.; Joe Castaneda, director of communications at Lake Ann Camp, Lake Ann, Mich.; Chris Brown, director of TechPartner; Don Jackson, director of student missions for VFY and member of Calvary Baptist Church, Battle Creek, Mich.; and Kristi Walker, an ABWE missionary sent by Heritage Baptist Church, Clarks Summit, Pa.

TechPartner offered live feeds of the main sessions.

About 45 veteran youth pastors, volunteer youth workers, and youth ministry students attended the event, which Vision for Youth designed to be relevant, practical, and affordable. It offered them not only training sessions but time to interact and connect with other youth workers.
