Recalibrate2ITHACA, N.Y.—Pastors of churches fellowshipping with the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches benefited from an interactive think tank at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The first-ever Recalibrate Forum discussed how churches should compassionately and Biblically respond to homosexuality and same-sex marriage.

Pastor Don Shirk of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, Pastor Brian King of West Windsor Baptist Church in Windsor, and Jim Vogel, ESF state representative, led the event. The men closed the forum by presenting and discussing “Five Things Every Church Ought to Do to Be Prepared and Proactive.”

The ESF organized the four-hour Recalibrate Forum through its Center for Pastoral Enrichment, which provides support and training to the pastors of ESF churches. It plans to host at least one of these events each year, in addition to annual practicums, a series of interactive modules on practical ministry topics with groups of six to eight pastors.
