NEW YORK, N.Y.—First Baptist Church launched its new website, firstnyc.org, on Sunday, Sept. 22 thanks to a grant from the Web for Good foundation. Through the grant, this church received a custom pro bono website. The new site showcases the church’s people as well as its historic building, located at 79th and Broadway.

“Worthwhile has provided our church a platform that enables us to let people see who we are and what God is making us to be,” Pastor Matthew Hoskinson says. “Our standing as one of the oldest churches in the city creates interest in our history, and the new website tells our story in an interactive, enjoyable way. More importantly, the new firstnyc.org tells people what is going on now, how the gospel assures us of God’s love and transforms us into agents of His mercy in a very broken world.”

Web for Good builds world-class websites and software for free. This nonprofit foundation was created by Worthwhile, an Inc. 5000 digital strategy firm with offices in Greenville, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C. Web for Good’s other projects include the websites for A Child’s Haven and the I Do It For Foundation. So far, Web for Good’s pro bono work has won two ADDY awards.
