InlineCEDAR SPRINGS, Mich.—First Baptist Church ordained its youth pastor, Chris Howard. Chris, a graduate of Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, Pa., joined the staff in September 2008.

Before ministering as youth pastor, he spent many years serving at Christian camps, including The Springs (formerly Gilman Springs Baptist Camp) in Gladwin, Mich., and Lincoln Lake Baptist Youth Camp in Gowen, Mich. In May 2007 he joined the staff of Lake Ann Camp, Lake Ann, Mich. For the next two years he served as a counselor and program director and completed the camp’s master’s level LIFT internship program.

Rev. Ken Riley, executive director of Lake Ann Camp, participated in Chris’s ordination service Nov. 10, bringing the charge to the candidate. Also taking part were Rev. Alan Moody, a longtime family friend, who brought the charge to the church, and Rev. Dann Austin of Baptist Bible Seminary, who said a prayer of dedication.

A Harvest Celebration Luncheon followed the service for friends, family, and members of the church.

Pastor Jim Howard, Chris’s dad, says, “We are looking forward to many more years of serving the Lord together here at First Baptist Church.”
