MASON CITY, Iowa—On Nov. 11, 1980, six families met at a local YWCA to establish Faith Baptist Fellowship. Eleven months later, Faith Baptist Fellowship was dissolved and replaced by Faith Baptist Church as 32 people signed on to be charter members. This year the church celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Festivities began with a cookout and with devotions given by Darwin Miller Jr., associate pastor from 2001 to 2006; he is now pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa. On Sunday, Dave Callison, associate pastor from 1990 to 2001, spoke during the 9:00 service. Scott Greening, associate pastor of outreach and discipleship from 2006 to 2009, brought the message at the 10:15 service. He is now pastor of Great Commission Baptist Church, Schaumburg, Ill.

Following dinner in the fellowship hall, Aaron Hand, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Walnut, Iowa, and a product of Faith Baptist, spoke at a 1:30 service. Pastor Miles Grismore, who has served since 1989, moderated each service.

Many former members ministered with special music and testimonies, including alumni who joined the adult choir and the Kids of Faith children’s choir for the services.

“It was a special joy to know that so many that were impacted by the ministry of Faith Baptist Church are now faithfully ministering in their present churches,” says Faith Baptist.

A key verse for the weekend was Psalm 37:3: “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.”

“Faith Baptist Church has feasted on the faithfulness of God!”
